Looks like Bungie are pushing themselves to the limit to make us gamers as happy playing as possible.

OXM brings us the newest video full of gameplay and info on the plot and characters. Starting to look great, check it out:

Halo Wars Leaderboards wiped clear!

Posted by RJLC Thursday, July 30, 2009 0 comments

Yesterday, news of a major glitch hit the net.

Apparently a 'technical error' hit the system and caused all of the online records and leaderboards to be reset. Every single thing that has been recorded since release was set to default.

OXM stated that the Live Team are working on it, but I highly doubt they can do anything about it.

You can imagine the amount of angry players around the world who played the game since release. Imagine the look on the No.1's face when he heard of this news.

Bad luck.

Red Steel, Ubisoft's FPS for the Wii was quite a good game in it's lifetime, but it was clear that it was missing a few major things.

The sequel was revealed earlier this year and alot of improvements seem to be in production such as multiplayer. It will also make use of the new Wii Motion Plus. The accessory will be available together with the game in a bundle package.

Red Steel 2 is shaping up to look like a great game and with quite a bit of time for Ubisoft to work their magic, I woudn't be surprised if it wil be the Wii highlight of 2010.

Ubisoft really couldn't afford to delay any more alleged hit games for now, but what do you know? Two more games have been pushed to Spring 2010.

Splinter Cell: Conviction's news today will have caused enough upset by itself but news of I Am Alive and Ghost Recon 4 tops it. There are no dates yet but both games will be out earliest April 2010.

Well i suppose we still have MW2 to look forward too this year anyway...

At last! We all get to see part of the main reason why people buy CoD games with first video of MW2's multiplayer.

The video reveals the new AC130 killstreak reward:

At the end, sticky grenades! Not long to go now...

Start saving, because Splinter Cell: Conviction has been added to the list of eagerly awaited games set to release 2010.

Ubisoft have announced that the newest part to the Splinter Cell series will not officially release until 2010, date not yet revealed.

If you were highly anticipating it's release, ready for christmas, then unfortunatly you'll just have to settle with this year's titles and if you didn't know there quite a few that look EPIC.

So like I said at the beginning, start saving up!

With half of the web tweeting away every day on the latest online craze 'Twitter', other social networking sites have been left behind lately (in terms of daily visitors).

Today at the Fortune Brainstorm tech conference, Jonathan Miller spoke about gaming on MySpace. Miller expained, " MySpace is and will be more in the future a gaming platform. It will be a space for gamers to get together and play games worldwide.

Will this new feature manage to steal any visitors back from it's popular rivals?

Halo 3: ODST has a 'Horde - like' Mode!

Posted by RJLC Sunday, July 26, 2009 0 comments

Halo 3: ODST's Firefight mode was revealed last week on a preview video. Let me guess what your thinking. A rip-off of Gears 2's Horde mode.

But apparently it is nothing like it. Firefight will allow four players (online or off) to get together and battle unlimited waves of covenant enemies. Instead of having set maps and playing on them, locations are set environments from the campaign, new environments are available to unlock as you progress through the campain.

Your survival will be tracked, and the full range of Halo enemies will be out to kill you. Five waves will make a round and three rounds will make a set.

Bungie haven't said anything else yet but more info and footage should be released very soon!

Are you a big fan of Gears of War? Want your Avatar to look like one of the games soldiers? EPIC have announced that new GoW COG and Locust armour will make their way to the Xbox Live Marketplace available for download.

The pack will be ready to download by the next Xbox Dashboard Update.

Take a look:

Not long now!

The sequel to SEGA's original iron man game was recently announced. It is set to be released for Wii and DS during 2010. Lets just hope this game will play better than the last.

Here's the first trailer:

Kirby has returned to Wii Console in Dream Land 3. The game was first released in the 90's in the US and Japan but it didn't fall to the UK. Now UK gamers can download the game for 900 Points from Wii Console.

Nintendo's 2nd game of the series was recently released along with Wii's new add-on 'Wii Motion Plus'

The cheapest price I have found so far is £37.43 at Thehut.com.

Alot has been going on lately with Killzone 2. The third DLC map-pack was released, the latest patch, updates to the Killzone site, so Ubisoft went and topped it and rewarded players with a Double XP weekend!

Make your way online and climb up the leaderboards twice as fast. You earn a 2.5 multiplier for every win.

The Double XP period ends Monday 9.00 AM.

When Microsoft first released info on their new 'genius' idea (Avatars) the public saw what they were trying to do straight away. With such an obvious attempt to get the 'Mii' effect, it was just a matter of time before they tried something else.

Footage has recently popped up on youtube of a Xbox Avatar playing a game of golf. Nothing has been said yet and the video seems to be accidentally leaked.

Well until more is said, you have to make your own decision.

The eagerly awaited Madden NFL 10 is not far from release now but the demo is officially here!

The new demo allows the player to experience the game in all four halves and incorporates new features such as Pro Talk and Broadcast-Style Presentation. Obviously, as this i a demo it will not give off too much about the actual game, but this will sure keep online NFL fans happy until August14.

The demo was exclusively released to Gold Xbox Live members today, but unfortunately PS3 have to wait another week.

For this weekend, the Deal of the Week is Starwars: The Force Unleashed DLC, 'The Jedi Temple Mission pack' for a small amount of 400 Microsoft Points.

Make your way over to the Xbox Live Marketplace and get your hands on this bargain before time runs out!

Keep a look-out for next weeks deal.

Battlefield 1943: Download record broken!

Posted by RJLC Saturday, July 25, 2009 1 comments

Since July 8, day of release for BF: 1943 downloads haven't stopped coming! The Live Arcade online WW2 FPS has sold roughly 600,000 copies (across both consoles) to date and the number carries on rising.

The game has been a great succes for developer DICE and they acknowledge that they have set a new standard in the downloadable games catagory.

Download BF: 1943 on Xbox Live or PSN for just 1200 MS points or £9.99 on PS3.

lf you pre-order Batman: Arkham Asylum from GAME, an exclusive villain map comes free with it. The villain will be the scarecrow.

Also, a collectors edition will ship on the same date. It is said to be a must-have for Batman fans, it will feature

* A 14" Batarang with stand.
* An Arkham Doctor's 48 page journal
* A two-sleeve digipack, including the game disk and a behind-the-scenes DVD.
* And the exclusive 'crime alley' map.

The game is available to pre-order for £39.99.

Since July 2007, Nintendo's internet browser (powered by Opera) has only been available for download for a price. After buying the browser and actually liking it alot, I realised that it really should be free. The addition of the internet browser to the basic Wii interface could improve its popularity and sales. But until then we have to find our own way to get it for free. Two days after my purchase, this is what I found:

Command & Conquer 4 - News and Screenshots

The first C&C4 info was recently released by French Magazine PC Jeux. Actiontrip put together some details:

* Kane contacts GDI after all hope is lost due to the Tiberium contamination, forming the "Tiberium network control", which allows to control Tiberium spread, as well as turn it into an inexpensive power source- but of course, the extremists of both parties don't agree with this shift, sparking a new war

* FMVs won't consist of much asinine babbling in front of bluecsreens, there should be much more action ahead

* Our character will play an important role in the story, but FMVs remain 1st person - Much more mature and stern tone

* Crawler produces all our units, and is upgradeable as our standard units are

* Lost crawlers are instantly replaced, and you can choose between offensive, defensive or engineer classes

* Tiberium will be collected by refineries you erect yourself at pre-determined spots

* All SP and MP matches will net you experience points to unlock new tech

* Oil derricks as secondary income (Unconfirmed!)

Here are the shots:

EA has not yet announced a date for release, but it's going well so far!

Thanks to ActionTrip for details and screens.

Currently, Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo all have games consoles in the Next-Generation Range. So, why hasn't apple entered the competition between companies.

Apple sure have proved that they are capable of amazing things. For example, the Ipod range and the Apple Mac desktops and laptops.

What do you think about this?

Yesterday, news was released that Call of Duty Modern Warfare a will cost around £54.99 at retail shops.

Microsoft today announced that Halo 3: ODST will price around £39.99 at most retail stores.

Both games are well on their way to release now, not long to go!

The new ghostbusters costumes have arrived on the Playstation Store for the week's update.

Costumes are £1.59 each or £4.79 for all four in one pack!

Sony's PSP seems to be showing alot lately. The graphics on some of the new games are really showing what the handheld console can do. But what about MGS?

The screenshots for the game are looking quite detailes so far and video footage even more exciting! Here they are..

Looks good doesn't it? Take a look at this then:

Well that's it for now, we will keep you updated on Peace Walker news and previews.

Assassins Creed Bloodlines was announced for Sony's PSP at E3 to release November 2010. Already there are screenshots and a trailer!

The sequel to CoD4 was originally titled 'CoD: MW2' was soon after re-named just 'Modern Warfare 2'. Infinity Ward discovered that the discard of the Call of Duty title will lose them buyers and money. Most recently, IW replaced the CoD title just before the final manufacturing of the game case.

It actually turned out to be a good decision as it has boosted customer awarness and interest.

So the link with popular CoD games seems to have benifited after all.

GTA IV: Ballad of Gay Tony, the 2nd exclusive expansion pack for Xbox 360 has been officially dated October 29.

The Add-on will be available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace for 1600 MS points. Also, a retail package will contain both The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony for only £34.99 and will be released on the same day. The original GTA IV disk will not be required as 'GTA: Episodes from Liberty City' will come on a disc as it's own game.

This should be enough to keep gamers busy for the rest of the year.

Got more 'Need for Speed'?
Well your in luck, Electronic Arts are bringing ' Need for Speed Nitro' to the Wii and DS.

The game features real racing tracks, arcade style gameplay, real world vehicles, wii racing wheel support and more un-heard of features. Cars such as the Nissan Skyline, Audi R8 and Lamborghini Reventon.

EA are aiming Nitro at a more 'Casual Gaming' audience.

NFS : Nitro is set to release for November 20.

Originally an exclusive Xbox Live arcade game, Castle Crashers is now coming to the PS3.

While being a Live arcade game, will this work as well as on the 360? We just have to wait and see what happens, and with no actual release date this could be any time!

Unexpected Sales News!

Posted by RJLC Tuesday, July 21, 2009 0 comments

So far, Resident Evil 5 has been the best selling game this year. However, THQ's Cage fighter 'UFC 2009 Undisputed' has been a huge success on their part and is actually the second best selling game on Xbox 360

Personally I still play the demo and that itself deserves it's spot on the top 10.

Anyway, Call of Duty WaW came in third place, Halo Wars i fourth and Street Fighter 4 in 5th position.

Now lets just see what happens for the rest of the year.

Battlefield 1943, maybe the greatest game of Live Arcade. The FPS received quite alot of attention, and downloads in the first few weeks. EA seem to be giving it's gamers alot and now there's even more!

Three BF:1943 guns will apparently be usable in the upcoming game Battlefield Bad Company 2 (Sniper Rifle, Semi-auto Rifle and the SMG). This is good news for those who purchased the arcade game, almost a reward as most of the gamers will get their hands on BFBC:2!

PS3 Rumours

Posted by RJLC 0 comments

We have got hold of some interesting PS3 news lately. These are not confirmed yet but seem like accurate rumours.

Uncharted 2 to be released on September 30.

Maybe a Michael Jackson Singstar game coming!

And there's also word of a Madonna Singstar game.

Like i stated already, these are not official but i would say Uncharted 2 will be out on September 30. We'll have to see what happens.

CoD-WaW developer 'Treyarch' today announced their plans to release the 3rd DLC for Xbox 360 and PS3. The Map-pack will be ready for download in August 2009.

Map-pack will come packed with three multiplayer maps (Battery, Revolution and Breach) and one zombie map (Der Riese)

Map-pack 3 will have to live up to great expectations from the success of the previous packs which sold millions of copies!

A Successful map-pack could meen more players staying on WaW instead of migrating to the new CoD-MW2!

Firmware update 2.80 was originally an optional update for the system. However, some things change and this is one of those things! From now on you will HAVE to be updated to 2.80 to play online, and obviously there are some changes.

More updates soon..

Epic Games Stepping up on 'All Fronts'

Posted by RJLC Monday, July 20, 2009 0 comments

Epic Games are going All out to get Gears of War 2 back to the top! With new Downloadable Content ready to fly off the shelves in the form of a retail package.

The Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection will feature a deleted chapter to the campain called Road to Ruin, All of the previous DLC for people who never purchased them, which are the 'Flashback, Combustible and Snowblind' Map-Packs, seven new multiplayer maps, an exclusive theme, an introduction video, a poster and a strategy guide! Sounds 'EPIC'

New Maps Specifications:

* Allfathers Garden: Honor the sacred grounds of the Coalition founders in this explosive map, where powerful weapons catalyze fast and furious action at this COG landmark.

* Memorial: Set near the Eternal Flame, which pays tribute to the fallen soldiers on the battlefield, a hard-fought battle ensues at the Tomb of Unknowns. Putting their flank formation and evasive skills to the test, players will fight to control the Boomshot.

* Sanctuary: Once a peaceful ground for reflection and remembrance, all that remains of the Sanctuary is the chill of death. Feast your eyes on the arsenal of weapons available as you make your way through the tight paths and blind corners of the Locust-damaged temple corridors.

* War Machine: In the abandoned train station that once served as a hub for travel, players will need to master the Longshot, Mulcher and Boomshot weapons to advance the fight while evading fire from the platforms above.

* Highway: Take the fight deep into the Locust Hollow in the complex passages of this underground highway system brimming with enemy vermin. Stick together, separate the enemy and have an exit strategy ready or it'll be a one-way trip.

* Way Station: Sitting in limbo between death and "processing" are Locust way stations filled with fallen COG soldiers. Tread lightly and practice patience as it's better to sacrifice firepower for stealth while navigating this minefield of hidden grenades.

* Nowhere: Set in the middle of what was once a destination for weary desert travellers, the land is now barren and devoid of life. Pick off your enemies with the Longshot sniper rifle and make your way to the stairwell with a well-fortified team during this intense firefight.

The All Fronts pack will be available for download and in-store on the 28 July for just £14.99

The sequal to Nintendo's Wii sports is well on it's way to release now. This game got quite a big response from fans, and not just for the actual game by the way but mostly for Nintendo's new piece of technology: Wii Motion Plus.

Although, I think it's safe to say that Wii Sports Resort will be one of the highlights for Wii this year.
WSR has been out since 25/06/2009 in , but it's not set for release in the UK until 24/07/2009.
Another thing that has excited fans and which Nintendo has left us in suspense are the actual sports playable on the game.

* Frisbee

* Power Cruising

* Swordplay

* Table Tennis
* Golf
* Air Sports
* BasketBall
* Archery

* Cycling
* Bowling

* Canoeing
* Wakeboarding

This is the games line-up, but some sports are made up of several mini-games.

Bungie's President, Harold Ryan has stated that the most recent announced Halo game could use Project Natal. There is no confirmation yet, this is just an early idea but he thinks this is absolutely possible.

This would be quite obvious as Bungie were one of the first to get an early peak at the tech.

Well while we hope to hear more on this, what are your views? Would you like to literally jump into the Halo Universe infront of your TV?

With PES always behind FIFA graphics-wise, will these screenshots change your minds?

What game are you going to buy?

Maps Galore

Posted by RJLC 0 comments

Bungie seem to be going all-out with Halo Multiplayer this year.

A while back, they announced that Halo 3 : ODST will ship will all of the original 'Halo 3' maps. This means we will get to battle on the core Halo 3 maps, the Heroic Map-Pack, the Legendary Map-Pack, the new Mythic Map-Pack and the extra add-on map Cold Storage. This is great news for Halo gamers and for people like me who never got to experience the DLC.

Well, Bungie seem to be doing something right don't they? This news excited Halo gamers, but here's some even more exciting news.

Herectic is the re-creation of Halo 2 map 'Midship'.

Longshore is a wider map, said to be more complex and implements the use of strategy.

Citadel is a smaller sized map that looks suprisingly like 'Cold storage' from this screenshot anyway.

Halo 3: ODST will be in stores 22/09/2009, so we can see and play the full set of maps.

Xbox 360 Releases for Fall 2009

Posted by RJLC Saturday, July 18, 2009 0 comments

Half way through the year, we have come to expect something from MS. The truth is most of the jaw-dropping releases are set for the end half of the year. It is safe to say MS have gone all out on announcments this year. But anyway, here's an overview of what's going on:

* Back to WW2 with Battlefield 1943 and a large 24 multiplayer action. BF 1943 is set to release on 8/7/2009.

* Marvel VS Capcom 2 is coming on the 29/07/2009

* WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2010. Date is still to be announced.

* Wolfenstein for 18/08/2009

* Assassins Creed 2 Shipping During November 2009.

* Halo 3 ODST : A new character, a new story and a new experience.Set for release on 22/09/2009

* Halo Reach, recently anounced at E3 is another addition to the Halo franchise. Details haven't been released yet but it is said to be out by mid-2010.

* CoD MW2 Coming 10/11/2009

* Forza Motorsport 3 will speed onto the shelves October 2009

* Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 4 : Nothing has really been said yet but it will definately be seen in shops for 2010.

* Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction takes a turn in the story with Main Character Sam Fisher abondoning his role with the government and starts pursuing his own mission. Set for late 2009.

* Tony Hawk: Ride coming 13/10/2009

That's it for now but more to come. Stay tuned!
